Casa Manchada

also known as:

Impossible Love

Directed by J.A. Nieves Conde

A very good Spanish friend was kind enough to allow us to share some of the photographs owned by the director of this film J. A. Nieves Conde. I will have to ask this friend for permission to post his name on the site but until then I just wanted to share these treasures with you. Fortunately for us, Mr. Conde was very helpful and willing to speak about the movies he made with Stephen Boyd (there are a few) and more about the interview to come. First however I would like to pay tribute to the director of this film currently residing in Spain.

Mr. Conde is a very distinguished Spanish movie director, most importantly as part of the neo-realistic Spanish filmmaking. Mr. Conde is one of the top and most respected directors in the Spanish movie industry. His style of filmmaking is very direct and true, reflecting the reality of

Stephen and Mr. Conde (far left) on a break between scenes

Spain under the totalitarian regime, which often made him the object of censorship by the Franco dictatorship in his early films.

Mr. Conde is the only director to have worked the most frequent with Stephen Boyd, no less than 3 times did Stephen Boyd appear in one of his movies. In 1971 with the film called MARTA, then in 1972: HISTORIA DE UNA TRAICION and finally CASA MANCHADA in 1974.

As soon as Mr. Conde (seen here again with Stephen at the far left) heared about the web page dedicated to Stephen Boyd, he did not hesitate for one minute to lend us his assistance because Mr. Conde has always regarded Stephen as a very good friend and an excellent professional about whom he had very fond memories.

Mr. Conde, I just wanted to add that the fact that Stephen made no less than 3 movies with you has me convinced that he had high respect for you and your work.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH MR. CONDE FOR YOUR KIND CONTRIBUTION
